Allyson Cook is a certified and licensed massage therapist who is fully insured by the American Massage Therapy Association. From 2000-2002, she attended one of the top massage therapy schools in the country, The Muscular Therapy Institute located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has completed over 900 hours of classroom and hands-on practice, including extensive training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, massage technique etc. In addition, Allyson has taken specialized training and is certified to provide services in massage for pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. She also has been trained in treating specific shoulder, neck, low back, and thorax injuries. In August 2002, Allyson became nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork. This demonstrates the highest level of professionalism in the field of bodywork.
In addition to the above training, Allyson received her Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services from Springfield College in 1998.
Oceana Rames first studied massage therapy at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA in the mid-1980s. Oceana has studied advanced deep tissue technique, cranial osteopathy, myofascial therapy, Bowen therapy, Reiki and polarity. Oceana has an eclectic, problem-orientated approach to bodywork. Oceana is a licensed Naturopathic Physician in the state of Arizona where she practices, a certified Kripalu yoga teacher and a Reiki master. Oceana loves doing massage and is enjoying being on the Vineyard for the Summer!
Allison is a licensed massage therapist who is fully insured by the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. She has accumulated over 700 hands on and classroom hours.She attended Bonita Springs School for Massage Therapy in Southwest Florida. Aside from her formal massage training she has extensive experience with body alignment, posture and range of motion from her 15 years of dance, Allison has experienced the immense healing power of massage and bodywork personally and is happy to be able to facilitate such experiences for her clients. After living on Martha's Vineyard on and off, she left the island to pursue massage therapy so that she could return and engage more meaningfully with her life and the community.
Allison strives to create space in which each client can deeply relax, reconnect with their body and emerge restored. she finds it gratifying to assist the intelligent body in its innate healing process.
